You might qualify for a partially gifted down payment!*

The County of Wellington has established a loan fund in order to address housing affordability in our area. Through the Wellington Affordable Homeownership Down Payment Loan Program many eligible tenants have been able to purchase their own homes at a time when it seems increasingly out of reach.

In order to qualify, you must:

  • be a tenant
  • have no vested interest in a property
  • use the purchased home as your primary residence
  • have a household income of less than $98,500 in 2022/2023
  • purchase a home for less than $702,319
  • purchase a home in the geographic Wellington County area

Eligible applicants may receive a down payment loan of up to $20,000. This loan is forgiven if the applicant lives in the home as their primary residence for 20 years.
